Question about system architecture with different sets of webservers

Hey guys,

I am right now exploring the possibilities that I have to load balance the following setup.

I have many website running on a couple of servers. The point is, that not all of the Server share the same content. One set of websites is located on server 1 and 2 and another set is located on number 3 & 4. (Right now servers 2 and 4 don't exist, as we are not load balanced yet)
We are also constantly adding websites to our setup and transfering them between our servers.

Now I'm wondering if it would be an adequate solution to use haproxy's ACLs to match a regexp against the request URL, to tell haproxy which server the page is located on.

Maybe I'm thinking too complex, as I do not have a lot of experience with load balancing. If that's the case, could somebody please point me in the right direction?
