What toolchain are you trying to build with ? I used gnu make and gcc without any issue. I don't remember what the results looked like with AIX's make and am not interested in maintaining a 4th makefile for it since you have to install gcc at least, so let's intall gmake too. I've tried with the xlc compiler which is installed by default, but there is absolutely zero chance to get it to work. Since gcc and gmake are universally available, I really suggest you install them.
