A suggestion: HAproxy to send email notications

Hello all. I have been tinkering with HAproxy lately (with good results I might add) and the following idea occurred to me: would it be in HAproxy's scope to send email notifications if certain predefined conditions apply? For example HAproxy could send an email alerting that a server is down. And possibly another to tell that it has restarted and is online again.

I should imagine that this added functionality would not compromise HAproxy's performance and/or reliability.
